Just finished my first transcon/transoceanic flight ... This CRJ has some crazy endurance!!

What fireworks look like ....

From 8000 feet, descending into Philadelphia. Fireworks near Coatesville, PA. From the ground, fireworks seem to be exploding much higher than they actually are...

Flying into Washington DC

Flew into DCA today, first time in 2 years. Its gorgeous today and the
weather allowed for some great approach shots. It's good to be in the
states for sure. In the picture taken from the east looking west, you
can see the Potomac and the DC Mall and the airport on the left, on
the far side of the Potomac. Arlington is just past the airport and
it's so clear out today that Bankdad (my grandfather and the only sane
member of my family) probably watched us land from there today. More

On the way home from Charlotte NC - Lake Gaston at 90 mph. Weather is perfect for a long drive by myself with XM-Sirius Satellite radio parked on the JamOn Channel. It almost makes me want to be a trucker and drive the open road, like to Kansas.....

Since I'm headed back to the airlines, I figured I'd show you all what to look for in the terminal. Just make sure to stay to the right if you're walking slower or not paying attention to the pilot behind you, running to a different aircraft on a 20-minute aircraft swap. Climbing out tonight

Took off from Pittsburgh and had to dodge thunderstorms but the sun poked out - gorgeous night - but all things being equal . . . I'd rather be in Philadelphia. The sun always shines in Philly!!!
