On the way home from Charlotte NC - Lake Gaston at 90 mph. Weather is perfect for a long drive by myself with XM-Sirius Satellite radio parked on the JamOn Channel. It almost makes me want to be a trucker and drive the open road, like to Kansas.....

Since I'm headed back to the airlines, I figured I'd show you all what to look for in the terminal. Just make sure to stay to the right if you're walking slower or not paying attention to the pilot behind you, running to a different aircraft on a 20-minute aircraft swap. Climbing out tonight

Took off from Pittsburgh and had to dodge thunderstorms but the sun poked out - gorgeous night - but all things being equal . . . I'd rather be in Philadelphia. The sun always shines in Philly!!!

Home in Kansas

It took 15 years but I finally have made my triumphant aviation return to Wichita, Kansas. Go figure that it was on a date like 6/06/06! Beautiful land here in the heartland but it is flat and hot in central Kansas in the summer.

Amazing Headwinds

Typical large high pressure moving through the northeast U.S. a few days ago. It really caused some high and low groundspeeds. Here - our PFD (primary flight display) shows a vector arrow showing a 170 knot wind from ahead and from our left. The effective headwind component was appx. 130-140 knots. Great for anything Northeast bound and crappy for anything Southwest bound.
